Pete the Cat

The Children's museum sure knows how to capture the smiles and hearts of little ones..... I mean who doesn't love Pete the Cat and his books?!?!

Although it was a much shorter than hoped for performance, the boys will be talking about this for a while - and I will be humming "I love my red shoes" for the next week! Lol.

& before we met Pete, Lance insisted he draw a picture as a gift for Pete....

He's becoming quite the little artist - he has to watch my every move but his always turns out much better than mine !

Secret: I may be having just as much fun as he is!
The next day when we visited Pete for another activity, Lance's picture was hanging at the entrance. He thought that was pretty cool!

The boys were ALL giggles and laughs during this Pete the Cat "over the ledge" performance. To go along with Pete's lunch book, they threw food over the ledge - so much fun!
It's these moments and memories as a stay-at-home Mom that I am truly thankful for! Look at those giggles.....

Wisconsin Dells - Spring Break

Well, there isn't an ocean (but a lot of water and a huge wave pool) there wasn't an abundance of sunshine or warmth (outside) but this year we called The Dells our mini-Spring vacation! And we sure had fun! The boys played together for longer than 10 minutes without arguing or whining & we all found something fun to do!
Just loading up the luggage rack to unpack in our room!
There were many arcades (I mean who doesn't love something at an arcade - ski ball, anyone?)
Driving cars & boats!
& we got extremely lucky when one machine decided to accidentally give us over 1500 tickets (oops for them, sweet for us!)
Then there was the double decker super fast go cart track (Which Chase was JUST tall enough for, & quickly asked to "lie" that he was 4 years old #badparents)
But go ahead and ask him what his favorite thing was!!!
Keegan and I bowled while the boys played in the 3 story ball pit & fun zone!
Score for Mom & Dad!
There was mini-golf... Glow in the dark, even cooler ;-)
There was a lazer maze & lazer tag!! (Bad idea for Keegan to tell Chase he can't touch the lazers or they will cut him....ha. When he got in the room he started freezing out which led me to carrying him through the entire course.) Lance was a super sly little ninja warrior & dominated in lazer tag - Dad might have had fun too!
& then there are the pools, endless swimming & water. We got a glimpse of two very loving brothers enjoying having each other to play with - a moment we've been waiting for. They chased each other, splashed and made some great memories on this trip- so did we!
The slide they went down close to 100 times.... Lance getting brave going backwards!
The bus rides to the different water parks was always fun!!
Very few meltdowns, temper tantrums or bad moments.... A fun and actually a little relaxing trip!
..... OH, 1 more, how can I forget Lance's very brave moment on the ropes course!!! He didn't last too long, but was pretty excited to give it a try!
Just ask Lance about relaxing- he kept saying the balcony was so relaxing - lol!  We had a view of the horseback trail and got to see two groups riding horses - the boys are excited to be big enough to give that (& zip-lining) a try someday!

SPRING break success!

St Patricks Day

It's voted one of the best small town St Patricks Day parades so we couldn't miss it (chilly & all) The boys loved getting their green on!
The boys enjoyed the parade......BUT.... why does it seem parades were way cooler when we were kids???

And not related, but after the parade Lance enjoyed reading to Daisy on the sunny deck! Too cute - melts the heart! I love these little moments.

And then a few from our annual St. Patricks Day fun photo session!!!!
I'm so in love with this one of Lance!

Our Lucky Day Activities

I get a bit carried away with these mid-year Holidays. It's fun to use something like Valentines & St.Patricks Day to change things up a bit with learning activities...having a theme always gives me inspiration! I was on a mission to teach Chase to spell his name and from there just kept creating more activities for the boys!

From simple letter and number activities for Chase.....

And spelling & math work for Lance...,
A little "bossy R" activity to help him learn what letters make the "or, ar, ir, er, ur" sound.
They were most excited about the "treasure" hunt though!! Who doesn't love a treasure hunt? And it incorporated Lance's sight words too - bonus! (I warned you I might have went a little overboard!)
And the treasure was the best - a Reese's PB Cup of course!!
Our neighbor Abby was over & helped the boys find the treasure!

No wonder I couldn't keep up with the cleaning & laundry this month ;-)
