LOVE day!

Ok, so every day is really love day, yes! But on the EXTRA special LOVE day we reflect a bit more about what love means in our own hearts and lives - & I wish I wouldn't ignore love as much as I sometimes do...... not everyone gets to experience the same types of love or the same "levels" of love that I do and for that love that I give and receive I am so truly grateful!

Keegan found a quote in a book several years back and we ended up framing it as art in our hallway - it reads:
There are three keys to happiness: Something to do, Someone to love, and something to look forward to.....

And I will sometimes ponder if those are really the three keys to happiness, if there are more or if there are less, but one thing I know for sure (Since I am reading Oprahs book "What I Know For Sure" I find myself using this all the time now ) is that without love I know I could not be happy.

There is love outside my home & my family, no doubt, but the real love that matters most to me is summed up right here....

They are the reason for my every day - my happiness, crabbiness and all between - and they love me in all of those facets!

Cheers to an extra special Valentine's Day for us at the Dodson house. The boys got to have a fun Valentine's Day party/dinner with their babysitter, complete with PB heart shaped sandwiches and cheese.

Keegan and I enjoyed a relaxed dinner out and time spent with good friends. And what wife doesn't feel special to receive flowers, chocolates, wine AND most important beautiful words written in a card - not a quick Love, Keegan, but a heart-felt love note. And double icing on the cake..... Lance insisted that I get jewelry so he picked out (with a little help from Dad) a cute little Target necklace and earnings that he was VERY persistent about me wearing out on my date with Keegan - so so sweet! I am truly loved.

Happy Valentine's Day!

(from boys who can be bribed for some fun pictures!) I can't wait to put together the calendar next year with all of these "themed" pics - cheesy and all - I LOVE THEM!!!!

Can't forget Daisy! (I didn't even prompt her for pics, she just came in and sat on the rug!!)

Although I do get a "tad" frustrated with them when they are goofy for my photo sessions, it seems the ones I always end up liking the best are the ones when they are being goofy and themselves and not just smiling like zombies at the camera! They will hate me someday for all of my picture needs, but I will NEVER regret having these - priceless beyond words!

AND.... this is REALLY how most of the photo sessions USUALLY go, just so you all realize what is going on behind the scenes!

Lunch & Pictures

I always love a last minute phone call to meet for lunch, especially when its with my little sister! We tried out a new restaurant, which was AMAZING and then I tok the opportunity of our location to bribe Chase for a few cute photos at a place I was scheduled to take a photo session the following weekend - practice in a new location is always great!
Not to mention, Chase is so flipping' adorable :-) Even if there weren't a ton of smiles.....

Yes, bribery is almost always used to get pictures of the boys - guilty I Am!!
Color or B&W?? I'm going to miss this toddler stage - pouts & all!

And that's a wrap!
